Jinja (Shrine)

'Jinja' is one of my favorite piece cause it reminds me of my time in Japan. You may notice that this piece was very Japanese culture inspired, so this is the reason why I decided to name it 'Jinja' which means Shrine in Japanese. The idea first came to me when I was living in Japan and I didn't have much money so I went to the temples, walking around to kill time. I started falling in love with the design and how those Gate shrines were built.

During the early stages the lanterns was not included, they were then included soon after I've put myself in the piece. I asked myself "what will I need if I was there?", "Will I survive?", "What am I missing?" etc, which lead me going back yo references and decided to the lanterns. some of you may ask what are those yellow paper stuck on the shrine, they are charms some to prevent bad spirits to enter.

To enhance on my painting skills I've restricted to using only a limited amount of layers and it was difficult but it was also fun.
